Which browsers support Speak to Write?

Speak to Write uses the browser's built-in Web Speech API. It works best in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Safari on macOS/iOS also supports it. Firefox does not currently support the Web Speech API.

Is my voice or audio recorded on your servers?

No. All speech recognition happens entirely inside your browser using the Web Speech API. No audio is ever sent to our servers.

What languages are supported?

Speak to Write supports 13 languages: English (US & UK), Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), and Arabic.

Why does Speak to Write require a premium subscription?

Speak to Write is a premium feature available to subscribers on the monthly ($9.99/month) or yearly ($79.99/year) plan. You can try all other free tools without subscribing.

Can I use Speak to Write for long documents?

Yes. Continuous mode keeps the microphone open so you can dictate as long as needed. There is no time or length limit on the transcript.

Does it add punctuation automatically?

Punctuation depends on your browser's speech engine. Chrome tends to add commas and periods automatically for supported languages. You can also say 'period', 'comma', or 'new line' in some configurations.
